So why is everyone obsessed? It’s got everything: creamy, crunchy, chewy, sweet, and salty perfection. It’s no-bake, made with just four ingredients, and loaded with nutrients. nature’s candy, except better.
Reasons why we are loving date bark:
Ridiculously easy. It takes just five minutes to put together.
Only 4 ingredients. Simple, real food. No fillers. No junk.
VERY satisfying. It curbs sweet cravings and keeps you energized.
Sneaky healthy. It’s packed with fiber, healthy fats, and antioxidants. (But it tastes like a decadent dessert)
Customizable. Swap in any nut butter, top it however you like.
Effortless. Way easier than stuffing dates one by one.
Fun to make. And even more fun to eat!
Ingredients:
20 Medjool dates (soft and juicy ones are best)
⅓ cup creamy peanut butter (or any nut/ seed butter)
¾ cup almonds
90g dark chocolate (minimum 70% cocoa for the best flavor)
Flaky salt for finishing
method:
Melt the chocolate. Break the dark chocolate into pieces and melt it using a double boiler (or microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring in between). If the chocolate seems too thick, stir in 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon of coconut oil to thin it out.
Prep the dates. Wash and dry your dates, then remove the pits by splitting each one open. Flatten them onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, pressing them together to form a solid layer. For an extra smooth base, use the bottom of a greased cup to press them down further.
Layer it up. Spread peanut butter evenly over the dates, then sprinkle the almonds on top for crunch.
Drizzle the chocolate. Pour the melted dark chocolate over everything, making sure every bite gets coated in that rich goodness.
Chill and set. Transfer the tray to the fridge and let it set completely (about 20-30 minutes).
Break apart & enjoy! Once firm, break it into bark-like pieces, sprinkle a little flaky salt on top, and dig in.
Notes:
Store any leftovers (if any) in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
